Family Firsts Part 1

This has been one exciting month...beach vacation with great friends, now beach vacation with the family! I think I can let the pictures tell the story, but needless to say we had a great time! There have been many firsts for Mason over the past weeks....first time with a sippie, first time sitting up (although he falls forward after about 3 seconds), first trip with his cousins, first weekend away from mom/dad, first time he laughed to the point of tears, and most importantly first time in the SAND! I think I probably took 600 pictures...I wish I could post them all!
The Creamer and Elliott family arrived a couple days before the rest of the Pruitt clan. The cousins had so much fun together...I can already tell they will all be best buds.

This is how Maggie crawls...FUNNIEST thing ever!

The girls loved playing with Mason while he was in his Jumpy...soon enough he will be crawling around with them. After being with the girls for a week I have learned to take advantage of the time before Mason starts to crawl all over the place....every time we turned our back they had electrical cords in there hands or they were playing with the electrical outlets. I should probably start baby proofing the house soon. We did attempt to go to dinner the first two nights. This is what night one looked like:
This was one exhausted baby by the end of the first day...and we hadn't even gone to the beach yet

Day 2: I was curious going into the week how Mason would do with his schedule. No fear... Day 2 he literally slept ALL day (by all day I mean he was only awake for 5 hours). I managed to get plenty of pictures during those 5 hours.

I'm sorry Hea but this was too funny to leave out. The girls love playing with boxes...unfortunately this was the only one they could find.

For dinner the second night we tried putting Mason in a highchair..it worked for about 20 minutes until he realized how tired he was and we reverted back to our normal way...holding him.

The rest of the Pruitt family arrived later that night.... I will save that for Part 2 of Family Firsts.

Beach Fun!

This past week, Kyle and I went on our first vacation together since we had little Mason almost 6 months ago. While I missed my little monkey more than ever, it was SO nice to wake up at 930, enjoy my coffee, go to breakfast, and spend the rest of the day doing absolutely nothing but soaking in the sun and enjoying great food. The first day Kyle and I spent the morning at the pool...I'm not sure if women just know how to put on sunscreen better than men, or if it is just my husband who doesnt understand the correct technique in applying sunscreen smoothly, but this is what he looked like after day 1:
He was blotchy to say the least...he claims the sunscreen was expired (expiration date was 8/2012). Next time, I will apply his sunscreen.

I was so excited that our good friends Kyle and Megan were able to join us for the trip. This was also there first vacation alone since there little boy Will was born a year ago. We decided to start taking these vacations more often...next time we may head to Gatlinburg for some skiing and maybe a UT/Vandy football game?!

Growing up I remember spending ALL our time at the beach...riding waves with dad while mom screamed "You're going out too far...come back in". We were FEARLESS...probably mostly naive of what actually lurkes in the ocean water, but we hardly ever went to the pool. I guess in growing up (and the fact that Shark Week was just on the discovery channel all last week) it turns out  now that we spend most of our time in the pool and hardly ever go to the ocean. Funny how things change with age.

We had a blast relaxing with good friends. Next week...we head to the beach again with the family and with MASON!! So excited for Mason's first beach trip with his cousins!

On a side note...gramps and go go introduced Mason to the sippy cup. I'm sure he wishes that milk came out of it, but for now it is just water.

Visit with Family

The Creamer's have had an exciting weekend~ Kyle's parents and brother were able to come in town for a weekend visit. Unfortunately I had to work most of the weekend so I didn't get much time to spend together, but Kyle had a great visit with them. It is always so nice having an extra set of hands to help out with Mason! Here are some pictures to capture the excitement:

So glad we got to spend some time with the family and of course, that they got to spend some time with Mason. Thanks for coming!

We also got to celebrate with our friends Kyle and Megan as their little boy, Will, turned ONE! I absolutely can not believe it has been one year since we were visiting them at the hospital the day after he was born. Time has flown by and I have so enjoyed watching little Will grow up this past year. Happy Birthday!!
of note... mason weighs the same at his 4month WCV as Will did at his one year WCV. I have a BIG boy!

This past week Mason has also learned how to roll completely over. For a while he could roll onto his belly but then he would just get stuck there and scream until I flipped him back over. I guess he got tired of being on his belly because during his nap one day he just decided to go ahead and flip right back over to his back. It has made his naps MUCH better since he can flip himself over and not depend on me. It always amazes me when he learns new things because he acts as if he has been doing it forever...no sweat just flip right on over. (I took a really good video of this but I don't know how to upload videos unto my computer yet...will figure it out soon).

He thinks his daddy is the funniest person in the world!

He looks terrified of the camera...I think it is the flash that freaks him out?!?
