C at a month

At 1 month old:

~Wt: 8 lbs (this was actually at 3 weeks, so probably more)
~Ht: 21.5 in

To say that my boys are on opposite ends of the spectrum is an understatement. Mason was (and still is) in the 99th% for height and weight. Camden is in the 4th%. It's like holding a peanut when you're used to a watermelon (always been terrible at analogies...is that what they are even called?). He actually fits into newborn diapers AND all those newborn clothes that I bought for Mason.

It has been really fun to watch Mason with his little brother. At times I feel like Camden needs a helmet and full body armour to be protected. At other times, I would trust Mason to care for him completely (in Mason's eyes this would involve giving him his paci, patting his head, turning music on, and most importantly making sure he ALWAYS has a lovie with him). Life from a 2 year olds eyes... priceless.

At two weeks:

My sweet neighbor had a baby 2 weeks after me, so Camden already has a little girlfriend. Granted, they don't do much together, but in 18 years we can show them this picture!

I was hesitant to give C a bottle (and really didn't have a reason to give him one), but at 3 weeks I broke down and tried it. He didn't want much to do with it the first time. It's slightly grown on him since.

One month pictures:

Story of the week- While I was feeding Camden (because Mason ALWAYS pulls his stunts when I am nursing) M pulled the cereal out of the pantry, dumped the entire box on the floor, and pee'd on it. Yes, he did. So I made him clean it up.

My day.

I'm behind in blogging...

It's rare both children are ever asleep at the same time. If they are, I find myself taking a shower or catching up on recorded episodes of The Chew or Dr. Phil. Definitely not making time to blog or upload photos. Here is what a day looks like:

5:45- Mason wakes up. Not in a peaceful way- in a way that requires him banging all his toys around and singing songs at the top of his lungs (probably in an attempt to get Kyle or I out of bed). Thanks to my friend Annie, we bought him a "Ready to Wake" light that is set for 6:20. Some days are better than others with this. Luckily, the baby sleeps well in the morning, so this is my only alone time with Mason. We try to cram a whole days worth of activities into a span of 2 hours.

10:30- Finally head out the door for whatever the day brings. Usually it's Monkeys Treehouse or some sort of indoor place facility around town. Once I took both of them to the grocery store- that was a disaster. I am counting down the days until I can resume my gym routine (5 days to be exact). With it being 100 degrees outside, it has made our zoo and park trips happen less often. Thank God for the neighborhood pool...

12:30- Lunch time/nap time. This has proven to be the most difficult part of the day for me. It never fails that Camden wants to eat at the exact same time that Mason needs to take a nap. However I try to arrange feeding times, it just is hard. If I ever feel overwhelmed in day, this is definitely it. Once I get Mason down, I finally get personal time with just Camden. Instead of cramming activities, we use this time to cuddle. Can't complain about a little R&R time!

3:30- Find something to do until daddy gets done working. Maybe bake cookies? Sounds like a good idea. Take a walk, read books, watch Lion King, play in the sprinkler... anything to keep a 2 year old entertained while allowing a baby to sleep.

It's funny how perspective changes so quickly... "busy" just a month ago was going to gym, planning play dates for Mason, having dinner on the table every night, etc. Now, "busy" is making sure Mason doesn't hit his brother, nursing the baby every 2.5 hours, and attempting to find some time with Kyle.

The rest of the day gets easier with Kyle. Mason loves spending time with his daddy. We have been so blessed to have friends bring us dinner, so I haven't had to cook. It's been a whirlwind of a month and there are days that are completely overwhelming, but I wouldn't change it for the world!

Toddler beds... my biggest nightmare

I am back tracking to before Camden was born to talk about Mason.

Let's talk about toddler beds. TERRIBLE idea to start this transition two weeks before I was due with a new baby. However, Mason was doing head rolls into his crib and jumping out of it, so I suppose it was overdue. I should have known my boy wouldn't just "stay" in a bed if there was an escape out. Of course not... he thought it was awesome that he could easily climb out and play whenever he wanted!

This is his "nap" on day 1...
So this is what happened a few hours later:
The next day:

So this went on for quite a few days. After lots of prayer (I realized that was the only thing that was going to make this situation better) he now stays in his bed and is adjusting better. Camden just may stay in his crib forever if he acts anything like his big brother did!

Mason can (sorta) swim!

He can't technically swim, BUT he has come a LONG way this summer. He started out terrified of the water and refused to get in anything but the baby pool. I put him in swim lessons with Ms. Tyler (who he loves and talks about ALL the time) and WOW, what a difference they made! After 4 lessons, he is fearless! He jumps in, kicks his legs, swims to side, all by himself! I totally wish I could take credit for being an amazing teacher, but I was actually shocked when I saw him and Kyle playing at the pool.

Here's a video: hopefully it works...

Looks like we may have a fun month of July at the pool!

Welcome Camden!

June 24, 2013 at 5:33p we welcomed Camden Pruitt Creamer into our family.

~Wt: 7 lb 8oz
~Ht: 20 in

What an amazing blessing he has been to our family! He is truly perfect (as was Mason at this age!) and I am smitten with love and joy for this child. We are adjusting to life as a family of 4, which has proven to have it's highs and lows with Mason. The good news is that Mason LOVES his baby brother...maybe/probably more than he loves his mommy right now. I could not have asked for a better delivery and recovery, and I'm so thankful to have wonderful family and friends who have showered us with love (and lots of food!!).

Last picture as a family of 3...

This picture was taken 5 minutes before C was born... thank God for epidurals!

First bath...

Aunt Heather and Uncle Jay meeting C for the first time

one happy GoGo!
Mason loved meeting his baby brother. He wanted to hold him and kiss him and totally love on him the entire time. It helped that Camden came into the world bearing gifts for his big brother!

Going home!

After 2 days in the hospital and being away from Mason, we were very ready to come home and start our new life.
Here are pictures from the first week:

so precious!

my favorite boys!

our first outing (to the pool with Mason)

Mason loves watching his brother sleep... he also loves turning the speed up on the swing up to 6 and watching me freak out

One Week old today...

After a week, we feel like we are SLOWLY starting to adapt to change. I am NOT a home body so I've had a hard time not being able to get out and about with Mason. We have found lots of new games to play around the house, and there have even been days when I have stayed in my PJ's all day! Luckily my parents have stayed to help out (cook, do laundry, home projects, and of course hold a baby). Camden is such a great baby.. he nurses well, sleeps well, and even tolerates his brother's tantrums. I understand why "they" say second babies are naturally more laid back.. they certainly have to be when things are so chaotic around the house!

I will leave you with a picture of Mason, just because I don't want him left out of the blog! We were welcomed home to a new double stroller...Thank you Nana and Papa!
